To provide a shifter that can be downsized in a direction of a radius of rotation of a rotary body.SOLUTION: In a shifter 10, in which a sensor gear 30 is engaged with a detection tooth 28A of a knob 20, the knob 20 is rotated to rotate the sensor gear 30, where the detection tooth 28A is formed as an inner tooth. This allows the sensor gear 30 to be arranged closer to an inside in a direction of a radius of rotation than the detection tooth 28A of the knob 20, so that the shifter 10 can be downsized in the direction of the radius of rotation of the knob 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
