PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive device capable of detecting failures distinctively without requiring a low voltage source nor a voltage monitor circuit at a high side and a low side.SOLUTION: A load drive device comprises: a high-side output terminal 110 connected with one end of a load 500; a low-side output terminal 120 connected with the other end of the load; high-side switching means 400 for making electrical connection or disconnection between a high potential side of a power supply and the high-side output terminal, and low-side switching means 430 for making electrical connection or disconnection between a low potential side of the power supply and the low-side output terminal; and high-side current detection means 410 and low-side current detection means 440. When the high-side switching means and the low-side switching means are in an ON state, failure diagnosis is performed on the basis of a detection current value by the high-side current detection means and a current detection value by the low-side current detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ハイサイド側とローサイド側に低電圧源や電圧モニタ回路を必要とせず、故障を区別して検出可能な負荷駆動装置を提供する。【解決手段】負荷500の一端に接続されるハイサイド出力端子110と、前記負荷の他端に接続されるローサイド出力端子120と、電源の高電位側と前記ハイサイド出力端子とを通電または遮断するハイサイドスイッチング手段400および電源の低電位側とローサイド出力端子とを通電または遮断するローサイドスイッチング手段430と、ハイサイド電流検出手段410およびローサイド電流検出手段440を備える。ハイサイドスイッチング手段およびローサイドスイッチング手段がオンのときに、ハイサイド電流検出手段による検出電流値と、ローサイド電流検出手段による電流検出値を元に故障診断を行う。【選択図】図1
