PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain or prevent the occurrence of inconvenience on ballast water treatment caused by a chlorine disinfectant of remaining without being used for the ballast water treatment of a ship.SOLUTION: A ship VSL comprises a ballast pump PM having a first operation mode of storing or filling seawater Wo taken in from the ship outside in a ballast tank by circulating toward the ballast tank T and a second operation mode of draining the seawater taken in from the ship outside to the ship outside by circulating without passing through the ballast tank and a ballast water treatment device having a disinfectant injection port Is for injecting a chlorine disinfectant into the seawater of circulating toward the ballast tank in the first operation mode and a residue injection port Id for injecting at least a part of a residue Re of the chlorine disinfectant of remaining without being injected into the seawater in the second operation mode and in the first operation mode, into the seawater of circulating toward the ship outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
