PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery system that consumes, with high response, transiently variable electric power generated by regenerative control of a drive motor.SOLUTION: A fuel battery system includes a fuel battery, an auxiliary device capable of consuming power, a secondary battery capable of charging power up to a predetermined capacity, a drive motor capable of performing regeneration control, and a controller for distributing, to the auxiliary device, at least a part of surplus power that cannot be charged to the secondary battery when the secondary battery cannot be charged with all the power generated by the regeneration control. The controller reduces the efficiency of the regeneration control or reduces the driving efficiency of the auxiliary device when there is a surplus power difference obtained by subtracting the power distributed to the auxiliary device from the surplus power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
