PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation device for a vehicle capable of shortening the time required for grasping an environment relating to difficulty of travel from an image.SOLUTION: The image generation device for a vehicle comprises a region determination part 45B for determining an angle of view of a display image including an environment that improves a degree of difficulty of travel and a central region in the display image with respect to a captured image. In a low difficulty situation where a numerical value output by an exponent processing part 44 becomes equal to or more than a predetermined value, the region determination part 45B defines a center of the display image as a disappearance point and makes the angle of view of the display image into a narrow angle that is narrower than an angle of view of the captured image. In a high difficulty situation where a numerical value output by a digitization part becomes less than the predetermined value, on the other hand, an environment that changes a degree of difficulty of travel over a wide range is included in a condition for widening the angle of view of the display image, and the environment that changes the degree of difficulty of travel over the wide range is not included in a condition for narrowing the angle of view of the display image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
