PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slider body polishing device which can polish a slider with a stable accuracy.SOLUTION: A slider body polishing device 100 polishes a top face of a slider 1 by a rotary polishing body 21 in such a manner that an anchor block 10 onto which the slider 1 is fixed is reciprocated in a direction orthogonal to a longer direction of the slider 1 and parallel to the top face of the slider 1, and the rotating rotary polishing body 21 is brought into contact with the top face of the slider 1 and is moved along the longer direction of the slider 1. In particular, the slider body polishing device 100 polishes the top face of the slider 1, which has a step at a boundary orthogonal to the longer direction thereof, by the rotary polishing body 21 of a cylindrical shape which rotates around an axis 21a along the longer direction of the slider 1, and therefore, the rotary polishing body 21 is also brought into contact with a boundary part of a step on a lower portion of the top surface of the slider 1 thereby enabling polishing thereof, and the whole area of the top face of the slider 1 can be suitably polished by the rotary polishing body 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】安定した精度ですり板体を研磨することができるすり板体研磨装置を実現する。【解決手段】すり板体研磨装置100は、すり板体1が固定されている固定台10をすり板体1の長手方向と直交し且つすり板体1の上面と平行な方向に往復移動させるとともに、回転する回転研磨体21をすり板体1の上面に当接させてすり板体1の長手方向に沿って移動させるようにして、すり板体1の上面を回転研磨体21で研磨する。特に、すり板体研磨装置100は、その長手方向と直交する境界で段差があるすり板体1の上面を、すり板体1の長手方向に沿う軸21aを中心に回転する円筒状の回転研磨体21で研磨しているので、すり板体1の上面の一段低い面における段差との境界部分にも回転研磨体21を当接させて研磨することができ、すり板体1の上面の全面を回転研磨体21で好適に研磨することを可能にする。【選択図】図1
