One or more embodiments described herein may facilitate charge transfer from another electric vehicle to or from one or more cells and/or a multi-cell battery pack of an electric vehicle based at least in part on state-of-charge and/or state-of-health monitoring of one or more of a cell level or a battery pack level One or more cells and/or a multi-cell battery pack perform charge transfer. An exemplary method may include monitoring, by a system operatively coupled to a processor, a cell state of a plurality of cells of a vehicle system, identifying, by the system, a subset of the plurality of cells that exceeds a repair threshold based on the cell state, and continuing to use, by the system, the subset of the plurality of cells such that the subset of the plurality of cells decays toward its end-of-life.
