A system and method for re-liquefying boil-off gas of a vessel is disclosed. The system for re-liquefying boil-off gas of a ship according to the present invention comprises: a compressor provided on the ship and compressing boil-off gas generated from a storage tank storing liquefied gas; a reliquefaction line connected from the compressor to the storage tank for reliquefying the compressed gas and transferring it to the storage tank; a heat exchanger disposed on the reliquefaction line and receiving and cooling the compressed gas; a first refrigerant compression unit for compressing the refrigerant discharged after the compressed gas is cooled in the heat exchanger; a second refrigerant compression unit for additionally compressing the refrigerant compressed in the first refrigerant compression unit; and a refrigerant expansion unit that expands and cools the refrigerant compressed by the first refrigerant compression unit and the second refrigerant compression unit and supplies the refrigerant to a heat exchanger in which the refrigerant compressed by the first refrigerant compression unit and the second refrigerant compression unit is pre-cooled, and a second refrigerant compression unit which is expanded and cooled in the refrigerant expansion unit and is supplied to the heat exchanger as a cooling heat source, and which is driven by the expansion energy of the refrigerant transferred from the refrigerant expansion unit.
