The embodiment of the invention provides a noise reduction brake rail and a design method thereof. The noise reduction brake rail comprises a brake rail body, a brake surface is formed on the brake rail body, and the brake surface is used for making contact friction with wheels so as to brake a vehicle; a plurality of mounting holes are formed in the braking surface; and the noise reduction columns are arranged in the mounting holes in a filling mode, the noise reduction columns are used for reducing braking noise, and the noise reduction columns are of a porous structure. The noise reduction columns are arranged to be of the porous structures, and the mounting holes in the brake surface are filled with the noise reduction columns, so that high-frequency sharp noise generated during friction between wheels and the brake surface can be absorbed by pores in the noise reduction columns, and noise reduction is achieved; therefore, high-frequency sharp noise spread to the living and working environment around the hump shunting yard is reduced.
