The present invention relates to a molded body comprising foamed particles comprising a composition (M1) comprising a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-1), the foamed particles having a ratio of average surface area to average particle volume (A/V) ranging from 1.4 to 3.0, determined according to method embodiments 1 and 2. The invention also relates to a method for producing a molded body, said molded body being obtained by providing foamed particles comprising a composition (M1) comprising a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-1), and welding said foamed particles, the foamed particles have a ratio of average surface area to particle average volume (A/V) ranging from 1.4 to 3.0 as determined according to method embodiments 1 and 2. The invention also relates to molded bodies obtained or obtainable by said method, and to the use thereof in furniture, seats, as buffers, automobile wheels or parts of automobile wheels, toys, animal toys, tires or parts of tires, saddles, balls and sports equipment, such as sports mats, or as floor coverings and wallboards, in particular in the fields of furniture, seats, as buffers, automobile wheels or parts of automobile wheels, toys, animal toys, tires or parts of tires, saddles, balls and sports equipment, such as sports mats.
