The invention relates to a method for providing driver assistance in a motor vehicle under particularly crowded and disordered traffic conditions in the low speed range. According to the invention, the distance can be adjusted in the crowded traffic, so that the distance is not too large, and a driver does not need to always change the position of an accelerator pedal. The fuel supply is adjusted as a function of the pitch, so that the speed or the fuel supply is automatically controlled when the pitch is reduced. The invention further relates to a correspondingly provided system arrangement. The invention further relates to a computer program product having control commands which carry out the method or operate the proposed system arrangement.
