The invention provides an escalator. The escalator comprises two handrails which are oppositely arranged, wherein each handrail comprises a handrail body, a rubber belt, a baseboard and an isolating case; a fixing groove which extends along the handrail running direction is formed in one side, close to the corresponding baseboard, of the corresponding handrail body; the baseboards can be fixedly stored in the fixing grooves and are used for supporting the handrail bodies; each rubber belt is arranged at one side, far from the corresponding baseboard, of the corresponding handrail body, and can relatively slide along the corresponding handrail body; each isolating case is arranged on an elbow of each handrail at the inlet end of the escalator and is fixedly connected to the corresponding handrail body; the rubber belts are isolated from the outside through the isolating cases; gap spaces are formed between the isolating cases and the rubber belts. The escalator can effectively prevent the potential risk caused by children lying and playing on the handrails.
