The invention discloses an automobile start and stop system and method based on a super-capacitor. The automobile start and stop system comprises a controller, a starting engine, a storage battery voltage measuring module and a first branch circuit. The first branch circuit comprises a first electronic switch and a storage battery which are connected in series, and the two ends of the first branch circuit are connected to the two ends of a power generator and the starting engine respectively. The system further comprises a temperature detection module, a capacitance and voltage measuring module, a circuit selection module and a second branch circuit. The two ends of the second branch circuit are connected to the two ends of the power generator and the starting engine respectively. The second branch circuit comprises the super-capacitor and a second electronic switch which are connected in series. The temperature detection module is connected with an engine and the controller. The capacitance and voltage measuring module is connected with the super-capacitor and the controller. The first electronic switch and the second electronic switch are connected with the controller through the circuit selection module. The system is low in cost, the storage battery is prevented from being impacted by big currents, and the service life of the storage battery is prolonged. The system has a redundant reliability guarantee and improve energy utilization efficiency.
