A clockwise and counterclockwise automatic switching device belonging to the technical field of cars comprises a car body, an electronic control unit, a wire harness, a base, supports, a saddle, a backrest, a rotation shaft, a motor and stress sensors, wherein the saddle and the base are fixed together by a first support, the motor and the base are fixed together by a second support, the backrest and the saddle are hinged together by the rotation shaft, one end of the rotation shaft and the motor are connected together, and the stress sensors are arranged on front and rear shrouds of the car body. When the electronic control unit monitors that the front part or the rear part of a car is collided by the stress sensors, the backrest is rotated backwards or forwards by the motor, thus reducing the injury degree of a driver. The clockwise and counterclockwise automatic switching device is reasonable in structure, simple in design, and suitable for the optimization design of a car collision loss reduction system.
