A drive device for a hybrid vehicle is provided with: a planetary gear mechanism; a first rotating machine which is connected to a sun gear of the planetary gear mechanism; an engine which is connected to a carrier of the planetary gear mechanism; a second rotating machine and a drive wheel which are connected to a ring gear of the planetary gear mechanism; and a restriction mechanism which restricts the rotation of the carrier, the drive device for the hybrid vehicle having a first drive region (D1) where a double drive mode in which traveling is performed with the first rotating machine and the second rotating machine as power sources is executable, and a second drive region (D2) where a lubrication traveling mode in which the planetary gear mechanism is lubricated by rotating the engine by the first rotating machine, and traveling is performed with the second rotating machine as a single power source is executable.
