The invention discloses a novel middle-engine rear-drive two-gear automatic speed changing electric car high in cost performance. The novel middle-engine rear-drive two-gear automatic speed changing electric car can be obtained by restructuring an oil-fueled car, and comprises a chassis and wheels driving the chassis, a motor is suspended in the middle of the chassis, an output shaft of the motor is connected with a two-gear automatic transmission, the output end of the two-gear automatic transmission is connected with a rear axle differential on a rear axle of the chassis through a longitudinally arranged candan universal joint transmission shaft in a power transmission mode, the novel middle-engine rear-drive two-gear automatic speed changing electric car further comprises a power storage battery arranged on an original engine compartment and located on the lateral portion of the chassis motor and the transmission shaft, and the power storage battery provides electric energy for the motor and an instrument system on the front portion of the chassis through a controller. On the basis of a traditional fixed-single-speed-ratio speed changing rear axle, the two-gear automatic speed changing rear axle is adopted, a rear axle input shaft is changed to be longitudinally arranged, and the candan universal joint transmission shaft is additionally arranged and connected to the motor in the middle of the chassis, so that the unsprung mass of the rear axle is reduced, and the front axle and rear axle load distribution and the whole car structure are both considered.
