Abstract This paper examines influenza preventive measures on airlines based on a questionnaire survey of passengers at Taipei’s Taoyuan international airport. Quadrant scatter-plots of influenza preventive service attributes revealed that the clean cabin and disinfection services fell into the “Keep up the Good Work” quadrant; the personal protective requirements dimension in the “Low Priority” quadrant, and influenza preventive equipment dimension fell in the “Possible Overkill quadrant.”

    Highlights ► Examines the perception of passengers regarding possible measures to combat the spread of Novel Swine-influenza A.► Finds that in general passengers have a low level of satisfaction with the prevention measures.► Different types of traveler vary in their perceptions of the importance of the various prevention measures examined.
