AbstractWe present a perturbation theory for obtaining solutions to Hamiltonian dynamical systems. This theory is based on Hamilton's principle and can be used to analytically solve perturbed two point boundary value and initial value problems.Applications include orbit transfers, optimal control problems and low-energy spacecraft mission design. Examples showing the validity of the theory is presented.
