Problem is that of waves in body of water of infinite depth generated by thin ship of given hull form, moving with constant velocity along straight course on otherwise undisturbed water surface; method is evaluated for computing velocity field at arbitrary distance fixed in fluid; stationary phase and other asymptotic methods are employed in different regions in water and final expression for velocity field is given explicitly.
