Calcined bauxite from Guyana was found to have exceptionally high resistance to polishing under traffic; it is, however, expensive and only limited supply of roadstone sizes are available; report summarizes results obtained from road trials with it and discusses methods by which other aggregates might be produced with similar or better properties at less cost.
