Review of some important projects underway in United States and abroad, which affect aviation safety; included are crew fatigue studies, crash fire prevention, low visibility and fog operations, and problem of bird strikes; necessity for solving these problems before large-capacity Jumbo jets arrive is emphasized, since world-wide air transportation traffic is expected to triple in 10 yr.
