Results of car-passing studies when several degrees of varying knowledge of oncoming car situation were made available to car attempting passing; drivers are able to make good judgements of distance to oncoming car; at normal passing distances drivers do not respond appreciably to oncoming car speed; and drivers are able to make good use of verbal knowledge of oncoming car speed in making passing judgements.
