Techniques successfully employed in management of diverse fleet of 73,000 vehicles and pieces of mobile equipment in worldwide operation supporting U S Navy's shore based program are presented; vehicles vary from three-wheeled motor scooter, used in special supply and production operations, to truck tractors of 200, 000 lb, used in heavy hauling operations; also included are ground maintenance equipment, powered airfield mowers, snowplows, sweepers, fire trucks, aircraft refuelers, road maintenance equipment, etc; program to preplan and control vehicle maintenance and replacement is described.
