With advancement in navigational aids, weather forecasting techniques, and electronic data processing equipment, flight planning and traffic control problems need no longer be confined to strictly geodetic parameters; aerodesy -- branch of science which deals with determination of distances and directions along aeroflight road -- is indicated as being desirable means by which flight times, headings, and other air traffic control problems can be solved.
