Measurements of profile drag, base pressure, wake turbulence and vortex shedding frequency have been made on 9% thick airfoil in presence of secondary air flow, ejected from blunt trailing edge; it is shown that decrease in profile drag caused by base bleed is associated with decrease in strength of vortex street; initial formation of vortices occurs further downstream as bleed quantity is increased; as result, greater proportion of shed vorticity is diffused before street is formed.
