Results of glide tests on test helicopter with its original production blades in autorotation condition; improvement in power off (autorotation) that results from operating with aerodynamically cleaner blades was investigated; helicopter was found to have minimum rate of descent at sea level of 1080 ft per min at airspeed of 40 mph.
