Gage invariance of electromagnetic interaction in quantum electrodynamics is consistent with nonzero initial mass of photon; it is shown, that this nevertheless does lead to solution of equation of polarization operator, if Ward's differential identity is satisfied; attempt is made to elucidate under what conditions physical mass of photon should be zero.
