Various types of automatic controllable propellers discussed to show that constant speed operation will give most satisfactory airplane performance; attention given to aerodynamics of constant speed propeller, and its effects on performance, with reference to usual characteristics, such as cruising speed and rate of climb; certain new performance possibilities that result from operation discussed.
