Automatic cycle machine developed by Pullman-Standard; wheels are gripped on table and held stationary while vertical boring bar revolves, reversing accepted procedure of boring railway car wheels on vertical boring mill; boring is completed with tungsten carbide tipped bit in one pass, because of rigidity of machine frame, large spindle diameter and minimum unsupported length; construction and operation.
