Lifting-surface integral equation governing unsteady loading on marine propeller in nonuniform free stream is derived using classical vortex model; induced downwash is split into part corresponding to locally tangent flat finite wing and wake, plus parts corresponding to effects of "helicoidal deviation" from this, of true blade and wake, and interference from other blades and their wakes.
