Investigations are made of effect of stiffness on stick travel per airplane response in steady longitudinal maneuvers, and on frequency response characteristics of airplane to stick movement during unaccelerated flight; calculations, including analog computer analysis of effect of stiffness on aircraft response in initial or transient state of longitudinal control, are made based on data of prototype airplane; development of concept and flight tests are described.
