4-8-4 locomotives being built in Scotland and Germany; welding extensively employed in boilers; in condensing equipment supplied by Henschel und Sohn, exhaust steam from two cylinders is passed through turbine to drive fan blower; from blower, turbine exhaust steam passes through oil separator to another turbine which drives air intake fans in tender; track gage 3 ft 6 in.; boiler pressure 22 psi.
