Tetroon flights made at National Reactor Testing Station during past few years have provided values of eddy velocity within planetary boundary layer; in this desert-like terrain root mean square values of longitudinal, lateral and vertical velocity tend to increase with height based on daytime observations through year; respective turbulence intensities, however, decrease with height; mean values of rms velocity increase by factors of 2 to 3 between winter and summer, etc. (10554)
