Completely enclosed circular craft is constructed of nonburning, rigid polyurethane foam covered with polyester impregnated glass fiber; it is designed to hold 28 passengers escaping from sinking ship, while protecting them from sea and exposure; it has self-righting stability up to 125° of inclination; 15,000 dollar craft requires no maintenance, since it is impervious to salt water, diesel oil, ship's corrosive smoke, chemicals, and deterioration by aging; if it should be holed by impacting against rocks during disaster, it can be patched simply and quickly.
