Many roads of National highway system of Spain are being tarred; tar macadam used for repair work, with success; early opinions as to inefficacy of tarring, on roads where there was much heavy traffic of vehicles with iron tires, shown to be erroneous; increased use of tar and emulsions for surface treatment is advocated.
