Editorial comment on presidential address read before Institute of Marine Engineers, discussing recent developments in marine engineering, most notable of which has been extraordinary growth in tonnage of Diesel-engined ships; in spite of present popularity of Diesel, author evidently inclines to view that future lies with turbine rather than with any type of reciprocating engines; automatic stokers are growing in favor.
