Experimental investigation of one-sided infrared (IR) method for detecting defects in case-to-liner and liner-to-propellant bonds of solid propellant missile motor cases; in method described, both heat injector and detector are located on same side of specimen; tests yielded equally good results in examination of first and second interface; method offers means of converting IR image to visible image for visual inspection of large areas of missile motor cases.
