Object and purpose of research. This paper discusses tanker trucking of marine gas fuel (LNG) to identify some of initial technical and economic parameters for tanker trucks as LNG fuel carriers and justify their optimal routes. Materials and methods. Analysis of Russian and foreign publications, laws and regulatory documents about cryogenic tanker trucks and their parameters. Main results. This paper discusses the prospects of bunkering LNG-fueled ships from cryogenic tanker trucks and gives calculation formulae to determine how many tanker trucks would be necessary to deliver required amount of LNG to the port. The paper also analyses relative CAPEX to the organization of LNG bunkering to ships from tanker trucks, as well as identifies optimal application for this kind of transport depending on the amounts of LNG to be delivered. Conclusion. Calculation formulae suggested in this study make it possible to perform feasibility study and scientifically justify the selection of optimal system for LNG fuel delivery by cryogenic tanker trucks. The study also highlights the key factors relevant for the cost efficiency of this system from the carrier company’s perspective.
