Research problem. To reveal the effects of virtual reality and conventional physiotherapy on the development of gait and balance functions in patients after a stroke. The research subject. The effect of virtual reality and conventional physiotherapy for gait and balance. The research aim. To evaluate the effects of virtual reality and conventional physiotherapy on the gait and balance of patients after stroke. Research methods: scientific literature analysis, testing-experiment, mathematical statistical analysis. Results. In order to restore balance and gait for patients with stroke there was applied virtual reality on a treadmill and conventional physiotherapy. At the beginning and end of the study, gait and balance by appropriate tests. Thus, after analyzing received data and observing change, it is obvious that the applied virtual reality on the treadmill and physiotherapy was effective. All patients' gait and balance tests scores increased significantly.
