Using the existing new and available automation capabilities, the aim of the modernization of the navigation system of the autonomous mobile logistics robot is to upgrade the current system for better performance. Although the current system is operational, it is slow and rather inefficient - the robot moves slowly and is difficult to service. The aim of the robot is to lighten the workload of the warehouse staff and to virtually eliminate the factor of human error that can occur during the picking of goods. The modernisation of the autonomous mobile logistics robot focuses on several key areas, i.e. integration of the Python programming language, optimisation of the existing system, implementation of an external server for communication with the robot and adaptation of the existing hardware to the new robot design. The prototype of the upgraded mobile logistics robot receives its orders on a server that uses Python software and hardware and transmits the route, the rotation data to the motors and the necessary data for order fulfilment.
