The running speed of logistics vehicle is closely related to its fuel consumption, while route choice has a direct effect on vehicle running speed. For the vehicle which usually consider the cities (or towns) as main nodes of logistics networks, the influences of road condition, intersection time delay, traffic time period and real-time traffic information on running speed are analyzed. According to the basic relationship of vehicle running speed and fuel consumption, a green path planning model aiming at reducing fuel consumption is proposed. With this planning model, the green path can be quickly determined from several paths between two nodes, so that the crowding paths can be avoided and the vehicle running speed approaches economical zone, consequently fuel consumption is reduced and logistics cost is saved. The preliminary experiment results show that the proposed green path planning model is proven to be feasible and effective.
