Luminance's sharp variation at highway tunnel's entrance and exit will engender driver's visual adaptation difficulty, and even lead to traffic accident. By using EMR-8B system, a driver's pupillary changes and variety of moving fixation during entrance and exit of highway tunnels are selected as research object, the evaluation index of driving safety based on the variety velocity of pupil area and the evaluation index of visual information processing level based on the moving fixation, are brought forward. The rational range of the variety velocity of pupil areas and the index of moving fixation are also obtained, and can be used in safety evaluation of highway tunnel's entrance and exit.
