The travel information searching motivation was illustrated from the perspective of travelers based on information searching theory and travel decision-making process, and was also based on drivers' travel information searching behavior model which was one of the methods proposed. On this basis, the specific factors and mechanism of travel information search behavior were analyzed, and then the traffic state information searching behavior was discussed in detail through an example network. In order to explain the cognition mode of travel information scientifically, the effects of travel information and different types of travel information environment were analyzed based on travel decision-making. The travel experience was described by establishing preferred route sets, and a log it model of travel information searching was proposed to describe the travelers' dynamic information cognitive process. The travel information cognitive mode was established initially, thus providing a theoretical basis for traffic behavior study and travel information system planning.
