High-speed train passengers may fail to catch up the trains successfully if they arrive at the train stations relatively late before the departure time, owing to traffic congestion or slow security check process, etc. In this paper a special service process is proposed to enhance late arrival passengers’ possibility of catching up high-speed train’s departure by adjusting the routine service process’s order, providing the designated service facilities and emergent exclusive access to the trains before train’s departure. The Arena software is adopted to simulate the service process and output the statistical data. The case study compares the rates of late arrival passengers failing to catch up the train’s departure of the routine and special service process. Our results show the positive effect of the special service on enhancing late arrival passengers’ possibility of catching up high-speed train’s departure by comparing with the routine service process.
