In the traditional traffic control system, there is no coordination between different regions. This paper analyses the significance of coordination of the region boundary, brings out the condition for coordination and proposes two traffic control situation discrimination models of region boundary. After that, a dynamic hierarchical coordination control model of region boundary is proposed. Finally, a simulation test is carried out to validate the dynamic hierarchical coordination model with the help of VISSIM 4.2. Through evaluation index comparison of the traditional traffic control and the coordination model, it is concluded that the dynamic hierarchical coordination model is more efficient and produces better traffic control benefit than the traditional traffic control system.
