Public transportation passenger flow OD matrix is the basis of collocation of urban public transportation network. This paper applies OD matrix estimation in research on distribution of public transportation passenger flow, according to vehicle OD matrix estimation. With regard to analysis of pubic transportation travel distance, we suppose that pubic transportation travel is of medium-long distance so that few people choose it in case of too long or too short travel time. Causes of this condition are analyzed. This paper brings forward a few probability coefficients and OD matrix estimation by counting on-down passengers at each stop. Examples are particularized so the method is clearly shown. The method is simple and has been successfully used in Harbin public transportation passenger flow OD matrix estimation. Passenger flow OD matrix describing distribution of public transit travel is basis of collocation of urban public transportation network. Normally inquiry sheets are delivered to passengers getting on and drew back when they get off. Everyone should fill in the sheets according to facts. That has difficulties in practice, such as convenience and passengers willingness to cooperate. So veracity of data is not secured. If passenger flow OD matrix can be estimated by numbers of on-down passengers, then the only thing to do is to count them. And then manpower and material can be greatly reduced. OD matrix estimation stars from car OD matrix estimation, which means estimating actual sub-area traffic OD matrix with actual traffic on road network. Models in common use are Maximum Entropy Model on basis of maximum entropy, Generalized Least Squares Model on basis of least squares method. Info Minimum Model on basis of info theory, Maximum Likelihood Model on basis of maximum likelihood theory, and so on. Different estimation methods have been presented on calculation, such as Capacity Limited method, NN Estimation method, Iterative Estimation method, Operation on Chart method, and so on. These methods apply for different networks and their ranges differ. There has not been special research on distribution of urban transit passengers.
