The highway traffic capacity has always been in a continuous growth in past several decades, the advanced technique and kinetics performance of automobiles may be the key responsible for leading that. Have owing to this, the capacity and spatial headway mathematical model corresponding a conservative, a moderate and a venturesome driving behavior were deduced in this paper, a correlation of spatial headway and automobile kinetics performances were analyzed separately, so do the influence of the improvement of automobiles performances on capacity and spatial headway. Some conclusions were got: reliable design of braking instrument and extensive usage of ABS will increase drivers' confidence, being advantageous for them to select a smaller spatial headway. On the other hand the time to remove transmission interstice will be lowered due to the advanced fabricating technics, that the application of CVT and ECT may bring the clutch being removed from chassis system will also make the time of drivers moving their feet from throttle to brake pedal to be naught, which may result in an increase of capacity from 2200pcu/h/ln currently to 3050pcu/h/ln. At the same time, saturated traffic quantity of departing from intersection will also have an increment with the excellent performance of automobiles' acceleration. The realization of CCS and Automatic Navigation in Platoons in future may cause an essential augment of road capacity, capacity of freeway basic segment may reach 4000pcu/h/ln or above.
