Bridges play a crucial role in the regional and global development of a country by providing the necessary links for logistics and transportation. This chapter investigates the car body, wheel, and contact responses using the more realistic two‐DOF system for the test vehicle, with the suspension effect duly taken into account. It derives closed‐form solutions for the dynamic responses of the bridge and CP based on the equations of motion for the system. It presents backward formulas for computing the vehicle's wheel and contact responses from the body response. The chapter verifies the analytical solutions by comparing with those by FEM, for which the assumptions adopted in the analytical derivation have been removed. It conducts a parametric study to assess the effects of vehicle damping, vehicle speed, environmental noise, pavement roughness and ongoing traffic, to evaluate the capabilities of the proposed method.
