The Anglican Church of Korea (ACK) is a small church, having a relatively short history within the Anglican Communion, but its history of mission is filled with very colorful events and powerful experiences. The first important point that needs to be considered about the Anglican mission in Korea was its relationship with colonialism. Peace, reconciliation, and unity are the very pressing issues for Korean Christians. The canons of ACK, proclaimed in the establishment of the province in 1992, recognized “the reconciliation and salvation of the nation” as the main calling of the ACK province. In the early period of the Anglican mission in Korea, prayer books and liturgies were based on the 1662 Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England. This chapter concludes by introducing a very special cross, the lotus flower cross, which was produced through the Anglican mission in Korea.
