This chapter addresses human‐autonomy collaboration and coordination in the RPAS domain. Specifically, this chapter discusses the human system integration needs that arise when multiple RPAs are required for routine on‐mission interactions. Design challenges for enabling a collaborative mixed‐initiative approach to coordinate the different human and autonomy algorithm abilities are identified including information fusion, decision support, and selection of activities to satisfy different goals. Candidate interface technologies for supporting human‐autonomy collaboration are also introduced (e.g., glyphs, timelines, spatial aural displays, multi‐modal interfaces, and flexible adaptable control). The chapter closes with a discussion of open problems, needs, and challenges with an emphasis on near‐term human systems integration problems.
